Big Ten Football Prediction Center

A website devoted to my knowledge, or lackthereof, of Big Ten Football. I start with a preason prognostication and see how it pans out at the end of the season. I also make weekly predictions (independent of the preseason picks). Both the preseason and weekly picks are compared to those made by experts from television and the press.

The Rules

Here are the rules for others that want to play along...

Submitting Picks

Picks need to be submitted by Friday at 11:59 PM prior to each week's games. On the event that a non-Saturday game is played, the picks need to be submitted by 11:59 PM on the day preceding the games. Picks will occur each week, including the Big Ten Championship Game and for Bowl Season.

The Picks

The picks are straight-up wins or losses. (i.e. Northwestern will beat Iowa). No spreads or over-unders.

Scoring

Scoring is simple. You get 1 point for every correctly picked out-of-conference (OOC) game and 2 points for every correctly picked conference game. My thought is, you need to know 2 Big Ten teams for conference games, so they should be worth double points. Also, I don't claim to be an expert outside of the conference, so I don't think OOC games should be as stressed. Pick the game wrong... no points for you.

Weekly and Final Tallies

The best performer each week will be recognized. At the end of the year (post-Bowls), the one with the most points wins. It is that simple.

About Me

Justin Brennan
I love college football! I am a proud Penn State alum (Class of 2003) but have been a Penn State Football fan since 1992. In fact, I have only missed 3 games either in person or on TV (excluding those few not televised) since 1992. I have been a Penn State season ticket holder since 2009. From 2005 to 2008, I made it a personal goal to see Penn State play in every Big Ten stadium. I'll add Nebraska to that list next year... after a hefty Stub Hub price tag I am sure! Having only been a fan during Penn State's last year as an Independent, I have grown up immersed in Big Ten culture. I have grown to have a deep respect for the conference and find that Big Ten Football is more than just a collection of teams, but rather is an attitude centered on tough physical play. I created this blog because I wanted to formalize something that I have been independently doing each year anyway. I just thought it would be interesting to gather others with the same passion about Big Ten Football that I have.
